Under Counter Refrigerators

Doug Dearing asked:

One of the most important, not to mention the most highly practical features that a modern kitchen appliance should have these days is space – and a lot of it. With a wide range of appliances, cabinets, counters, and even islands or peninsulas, having ample space can be hard to come by, and thus is something that is highly desired in most homes. And let’s be honest with ourselves here: the refrigerator does not exactly help when it comes to taking up a small space. There can be no argument against the fact that a refrigerator and freezer are necessary to preserve meats, dairies, as well as various and sundry other perishable items. However, even the cabinet depth refrigerators are tremendously big and bulky. One of the most practical solutions to this problem is having one that is installed under the counter.

For those individuals who are desperate for space, these under counter fridges are ideal. Made to fit flush underneath a kitchen counter, they function just like a normal refrigerator would, but while taking up a considerably less amount of room. Sure, the large amount of storage space that a standard refrigerator provides may be ideal for those with large families, but it is nowhere near as practical for the smaller family or newly married couple in an apartment. Many individuals feel they actually need more storage and install under counter refrigerators in addition to their normal “refrig”. This is a great way to achieve more refrigerator space without having to install another bulky full-size refrigerator for a much larger price.

While the under counter fridge is a great space saver in the kitchen, this built-in appliance is equally efficient and potentially more practical for those individuals who have taken the time to install a built-in bar in their homes. Aside from food, it’s ideal for storing wine, beer, and many other types of alcoholic beverages. GE actually makes both standard undercounter refrigerators, as well as models that are made specifically for beverages, making virtually any bar owner – whether commercial or household – a very happy and satisfied customer.

Practicality and space are not the only features to these user friendly appliances. They are also made to be quite stylish and sleek. They are even made to be available in stainless steel, making for a very effortless cleanup. You can visit Sears in stores or online to find the fridge that will fit right under your counter and for just the right price.
